Why Internal Advocates Trump External Advocates

Advocacy has the unmatched ability to boost your social media efforts, propelling your marketing strategies and boosting your social reach beyond what your company could achieve on its own. But when it comes to advocates, there’s a big difference in promoting internal advocacy versus fostering external advocate’s efforts. In fact, internal advocates have a leg up on their external counterparts and are more powerful in many respects.

Sure, there are always exceptions to the rule, but a general rule of thumb is that your internal advocates are superior to external advocates. Internal advocates are those who are from within your company and promoting your brand through social media; external advocates are folks who lie outside of the confines of your company umbrella but who are doing their part to promote your brand as well.
