Call-to-Action Use in Social Media

Many executives and companies are challenged with creating messages that are used in social media. What is often overlooked is the appropriate use of a Call-to-Action (CTA) either in the message or on the destination website. A CTA is essentially asking for the order -- whatever the order is. When a CTA is used, many times there is a lack of consideration of the timing of what to ask for and when. Social media is a powerful way to establish an ongoing relationship along with credibility in your industry. Social media is not, however, a one message sell. Unlike more traditional marketing mediums such as direct mail or advertising, you don't have the space or the attention span to sell the entirety of a pitch, let alone a product or service.
