Average Reach for Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook Members

Last I checked the Internet, the average friend and follower count on the social networks was hovering around 100 people... give or take a few. Ultimately, the true numbers reside in the networks themselves. However, we recently did our own analysis and found some different results. We attribute this to a bias that is inherent when you group together people that want to share messages from an organization. The bias is that these are the people who are more active on social media. Our previous analysis has shown that there is a correlation to activity level and increasing friend and follower counts. Most average friend and follower counts seem to take in the universe of members that exist on a network which would skew the numbers down due to the amount of people who may sign up for a social media account and never use it.
